Behind-the-Ear (BTE) Hearing Aids
Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids are designed to sit behind the ear and are connected to a custom ear mold. These devices are ideal for patients with mild to severe hearing loss. BTE hearing aids provide more power, longer battery life, and are suitable for individuals with presbycusis or other forms of hearing impairment.

In-the-Ear (ITE) Hearing Aids
In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids are custom-fitted to sit inside the ear, making them comfortable and discreet. Ideal for mild to moderate hearing loss, ITE devices offer a more natural hearing experience. Whether you're dealing with age-related hearing loss or tinnitus, these hearing aids can be adjusted to meet your needs.

In-the-Canal (ITC) Hearing Aids
In-the-canal (ITC) hearing aids fit partially inside the ear canal, offering a less noticeable solution. These aids provide clear sound amplification for those with mild to moderate hearing loss. ITC hearing aids are a great option for patients who need a discreet solution but still require significant hearing assistance.

Completely-in-Canal (CIC) Hearing Aids
Completely-in-canal (CIC) hearing aids are the smallest and most discreet option. These hearing aids sit deep inside the ear canal, making them nearly invisible. Ideal for patients with mild to moderate hearing loss, CIC devices deliver clear sound while being comfortable and unobtrusive, perfect for those seeking minimal visibility.

Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) Hearing Aids
Receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aids are similar to BTE models but with the receiver placed inside the ear canal. These devices provide a more natural listening experience, especially for patients with mild to severe hearing loss. RIC hearing aids offer superior sound quality and are perfect for those experiencing presbycusis or other hearing difficulties.

We do not specifically require a referral. Some insurance plans, particularly Medicare and Medicaid require a referral to see the audiologist for the services to be covered.
Are hearing aids covered by insurance?
Coverage varies widely. It is best to check with your specific plan for information on coverage. Basic Medicare plans do not cover hearing aids. If you have a supplement it is possible that you would have benefits.
Do you accept insurance?
We are in network with most major commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Does someone in your office speak Spanish?
Yes
How do I know if I have a hearing loss?
Hearing loss can develop gradually, and many people may not notice the symptoms until it affects their daily life. Common signs of hearing loss include:
- Difficulty understanding conversations, especially in noisy environments.
- Frequently asking people to repeat themselves.
- Turning the volume on the TV or radio higher than usual.
- Feeling like others are mumbling or speaking too softly.
- Tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in the ears).
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s important to schedule a hearing test to get an accurate diagnosis
Do you fit hearing aids that support Auracast?
Hearing aids that support Auracast, a Bluetooth audio streaming technology, include select models from major brands. Audiology of Asheboro can offer this technology from multiple manufacturers.
I did not buy my hearing aids from your office. Can you help me with them?
We work with most of the major manufacturers and are happy to assist you with devices you purchased elsewhere. Please call our office to schedule an appointment so we can review options on how we can best assist you.
What is included with the purchase of hearing aids?
It is important to realize that adjusting to hearing aids will be a process. We will guide you through this journey to ensure you are completely satisfied and the hearing aids are custom fit for you. We will ensure you are comfortable inserting and removing the aids and caring for them. Hearing aids purchased at Audiology of Asheboro include at least 6 months of follow up visits. All hearing aid fittings are verified using Real Ear Measurements to confirm the settings are just right.
Do you offer free hearing aid trials?
Audiology of Asheboro offers a 30 day trial of hearing aids. We have a non refundable trial fee of $550. In order for the hearing aids to be personalized to you we will spend quite a bit of time helping you through the process. We hope that you will understand that our time and services have value.
